LUSC Competitive Program
Program is offered to players in Pinellas County and surrounding areas.
The program has two aspects - development and competitive. This program is designed for the youth athlete who is serous about their development and reaching the fullest potential as a player. The goal is to help each player develop in an environment that is not only
competitive but also rewarding. For our older players the goal is to help them to not only continue to develop as players but also to help prepare them for the move to high school and college. One of the goals of the competitive program is to help each player with the desire to play college soccer attain that goal.
At the younger age groups we have the Academy Program. The LUSC Academy Program provides professional, age specific, advanced training for U9 – U12 age groups and both boys and girls. This very special program is designed to lay the foundation for the development of the player and club in the future. The Academy Program focuses on the complete development of each player. Through guided discovery teaching methods, the
Academy staff challenges each player to creatively solve problems that only the game itself can provide.
The Academy Program’s philosophy is one of playing to learn. Academy staff is selected and trained to provide the necessary instruction in an environment conducive to learning and having Fun! Challenging training sessions are conducted by Academy staff and are the key ingredient in the personal development of players. Training activities are devised to
help each player improve technically (skills), tactically (decision-making), physically (fitness), and psychologically (mental toughness).
